• Capacity: It can comfortably accommodate up to 30 guests (excluding the couple and vendors), making it suitable for slightly larger gatherings.

You Will Love This Venue If:

  • You are looking for a picturesque spot in Central Park with a natural, rustic atmosphere.
  • You prefer an outdoor ceremony surrounded by greenery and the beauty of Trumpet Vine covering the gazebo.
  • You have a slightly larger guest list but still want an intimate and nature-inspired location.
  • You want a venue that is easily accessible from the park’s entrance at 6th Ave and 59th Street.

Must Know

  • Permit Requirements: A permit is required to hold ceremonies at Cop Cot, costing $150 (included in the Bloom & Oasis Package). The Simply Eloped team will coordinate the permit on your behalf.
  • Restrictions: Permits must be arranged at least 30 days in advance. The permit allows the ceremony to be held for the allotted time but does not block off the venue for exclusive use. Note that no permits are issued on Columbus Day.
  • Additional Tips: Cop Cot is located on the opposite side of the park from Bethesda, so it is not ideal if you plan to visit iconic photo spots during your ceremony. The gazebo can get snug if you have more than 30 guests, and it can be busy year-round, requiring a permit regardless of the guest count.

Good to Know Before You Elope Here

Definitely meet at the Visitor Center half hour prior to when you have your ceremony scheduled with all parties. Keep in mind it takes about 18-minutes to drive from the visitor center to Sprague Lake. If you have elder folks, feel free to bring them a folding chair. All other decorations and chairs not allowed unless given special permission from Rocky Mountain National Park Reminder not to carry too much. You don’t want a bunch of bags, etc in your photos. In the case of rain, we can duck into your car and wait for the weather to pass (it generally breaks quickly). Otherwise, we can plan for another day. Touch base with us in that case! Bring walking shoes if you intend to wear high heels in your ceremony. You won’t regret the flats, I promise! Reminder, dogs are not permitted at this location. Speaking of tips, we highly recommend them for your team! $30/person is customary and means a lot for the work they put in! Lastly, don’t forget to have fun. This is a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life (in the special way). Breathe, relax and enjoy. You got this. ;)
