Overall I enjoyed my experience with simply eloped and our day couldn’t have been more perfect!

Brandon Baker is the man! He made us feel so special and we could tell he put so much effort into our ceremony, we were truly honored to have him as our officiant.

We had a couple of hiccups with the officiant:

-When we told her about what we wanted for the ceremony speech, it was clear we had no guests and wanted something short and sweet. The night before the wedding she sent us a very rough draft that contained a lot of irrelevant info (acknowledging guests, addressing the audience, etc) and required us to spend an hour or so the morning of the wedding editing it down to something more akin to what we asked for. On top of that, during the ceremony she pronounced our school’s name wrong despite us making it it very clear in the email we sent back to her with the corrections. All of this was not a major inconvenience, but we just didn’t feel 100% listened to as a result.

-There was in issue with the marriage license: somehow the officiant and witnesses only signed the “copy for the married couple” (and not the official copy) before the officiant had to take off in a hurry. I believe the intent was to have everyone sign both, but that didn’t happen. Some weeks later we got the form returned to us (not the officiant) saying it was the wrong copy, and that we needed the correct form to be mailed in. When we raised this issue with the officiant, she claimed we had gotten both signed and that she turned in the correct one: both of which were untrue.
Luckily, we worked it out and had her come back over to our home to re-sign the license. She then mailed it in, but it was routed to the wrong office somehow, further delaying our “official marriage date. Finally, we got notice back it was all good, but at this point it was the 16th of August — nearly 2 full months after the ceremony date of June 26th. Again, this didn’t impact the ceremony or our day greatly, but we felt a little upset that our officiant had to hurry off before double-checking the forms, and also that she initially denied her mistake and delayed in fixing it for such a long time.

She managed to accommodate me even with the situation at hand!! She did a wonderful job & it lasted all day!!

Vianka made us feel very comfortable and assured us our day was going to be magnificent. She was very personable and accommodating. I loved the most that she performed our ceremony in 2 languages, it meant so much for my mother to be able to not only be part of my wedding but understand it.

She was absolutely delightful! She was clear on expectations and next steps. It was very apparent that this was not her first ceremony but she still loved what she does.

Eva was fantastic. It was her first ceremony with simply eloped and she absolutely nailed it. I loved that she brought a handkerchief and took breaks when I got too swept up in my emotions.
